--------------------------------------------------------------

KAMUI is a group of “SAMURAI ARTISTS” who merged the beauty of form, acting and martial arts.

KAMUI has performed in prestigious venues such as the J.F. Kennedy Center in the U.S., Pergola Theater & Vecchio Palace in Florence (Italy), the Hermitage Museum (Russia), and theArmani Hotel Dubai (UAE).  We have also put on a dinner show in various venues including Blue Note.

KAMUI’s leader, Tetsuro Shimaguchi, choreographed fighting scenes in the movie “Kill Bill vol.1”, directed by Quentin Tarantino, and he also appeared in it.  The movie was ranked No.1 in the article “The 27 Best Fight Scenes of the 21st Century” by the US entertainment news site Collider.  Shimaguchi, who choreographed the selected fighting scene, was highly acclaimed as well.

A dojo called “KENGIDO” was established in 2012, which teaches their original samurai method.  We have been teaching not only in Japan, but also in overseas including Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus, and the U.S.

Shimaguchi is the first Asian artist to have won the Consonanze Award in Florence, Italy, in October of 2018.

KAMUI is a one-of-a-kind group of SAMURAI ARTISTS in Japan that has been disseminating “SAMURAI” as a part of Japanese culture and art to the world (※).

※An International Patent has been obtained for “SAMURAI ARTIST.”
